Abstract
Sigma-sigma-Conjugation in polysilylenes manifests itself in the Raman spectra qualitatively in a similar way to pi-pi-conjugation in polyen es, leading to a significant enhancement of lines corresponding to the stretching vibrations of the bonds participating in conjugation.
