Abstract
Measurements of molecular orientation in stretched films of polydimeth ylsiloxane using infra-red linear dichroism have been improved by the introduction of polarization modulation of the incident electromagneti c field. This technique is able to measure small dichroic effects with high sensitivity, even for very small sample draw ratios.
