Wv. Boas, SEMI-INVASIVE VS INVASIVE APPROACHES FOR INTRACRANIAL EEG AND SEIZUREMONITORING IN EPILEPSY, Acta neurologica Scandinavica, 89, 1994, pp. 36-38
When non-invasive studies fail to provide sufficient localising data t
o permit resective epilepsy surgery, intracranial seizure monitoring m
ay have to be performed. Various techniques are available with specifi
c advantages as well as disadvantages. ''Semi-invasive'' techniques, d
espite their name, remain essentially ''invasive''. The choice for a s
pecific approach therefore should depend on the clinical problem in ea
ch individual patient rather than on theoretical preference.
