We study the electronic properties of a deterministically aperiodic ch
ain where the impurities are located at sites corresponding to prime n
umbers. We consider a one-dimensional tight-binding model with a discr
ete potential and calculate the wave functions, resistance, and densit
y of states. It is found that both localized and extended states exist
and that the wave function at a mobility edge is multifractal. We als
o discuss the energy spectrum and the physical origin of the extended
states.
