The infrared absorption spectrum of the nu2 band of deuterated nitric
acid (DNO3) has been measured on a Bomem DA3.002 Fourier transform spe
ctrometer in the wavenumber region 1640-1740 cm-1 with a resolution of
0.004 cm-1; 2036 transitions have been assigned in this hybrid type A
and B band centered at 1688.3629 +/- 0.0002 cm-1. The assigned transi
tions have been fitted to give nine rovibrational constants for the up
silon2 = 1 state with a standard deviation of 0.00064 cm-1. The ratio
of the transition moments, \mu(b)/mu(a)\, has been found to be 1.98 +/
