Abstract
High-resolution spectra of (H2O)-O-17 and (H2O)-O-18 were recorded wit h a Fourier-transform spectrometer covering transitions in the (100)-( 000) and (001)-(000) bands. The measured line positions were used to d etermine high accuracy values of rotational energy levels in the (100) and (001) vibrational states for the two isotopic species. Measuremen ts of the line strengths were fitted to a model in which 19 transition moment parameters were determined for B-type bands and 8 parameters f or the A-type bands for each molecule. The fitting technique did not c onsider interactions between the (020), (100), and (001) vibrational s tates. The experimental results provide a more accurate representation of the line positions and strengths than those presently available fo r these bands. (C) 1994 Academic Press, Inc.
