Abstract
Thermal red and blue shifts of a number of spectral lines related to t ransitions F-4(3/2) --> I-4(9/2 and F-4(3/2 --> I-4(11/2) of Nd3+ in t he laser garnet crystals of Gd3Sc2Ga3O12 and CaY2Mg2Ge3O12 are reporte d. These line shifts are compared with those in YAG:Nd3+ found by othe r workers.
