Abstract
Electron trapping of Tm3+, Sm3+ and Ce3+ with and without local charge compensation has been studied in alkaline earth fluoride crystal. Som e qualitative results show that the lattice constant as well as the ty pe of charge compensation play an important role on the trapping effic iency while the characteristics of impurity has its own effect in the process.
