Abstract
Reactions of anionic zirconocene eta2-aldehyde complexes with metal ca rbonyls lead to rapid and quantitative formation of heterobimetallic c omplexes containing a new carbon-carbon bond, thereby suggesting a mod ified mechanism for homogeneously catalyzed carbon monoxide hydrogenat ion. Nine new bimetallic complexes are reported, including the X-ray s tructure of 5-C5H4Me)2Zr(Me){OCH(C6H4Me)C(O)Fe(CO)4]Li-(THF)2.
