Abstract
An original method for the preparation of thick coatings on refractory steel is extended to Cu substrates. Adherent coatings are obtained on a thick buffer layer of Cu2O grown during sintering in an O2 atmosphe re. Composite YBa2Cu3O7-x/Ag coatings are shown to be sufficiently fle xible during sintering and cooling to maintain convenient electrical p roperties.
