The normal venographic appearance of the pelvic limb of the dog mas de
termined by using a technique adapted from that used in man. A water s
oluble iodine contrast medium (1.5 ml/kg) was infused slowly through a
catheter placed in one of the dorsal interdigital veins. For three mi
nutes before, and during the infusion, the dog was maintained at 60 de
grees to the horizontal and radiographs were taken at the end of the i
nfusion. The technique produced good images of the venous system in th
e pelvic limb.
