F. Sgard et al., EFFECTS OF A FLUID IN UNIFORM-FLOW ON VIB ROACOUSTIC BEHAVIOR OF A BAFFLED PLATE COUPLED TO A RECTANGULAR CAVITY, Journal de physique. IV, 4(C5), 1994, pp. 1009-1012
The purpose of this work is to develop a general formulation to deal w
ith the vibro-acoustic behavior of a baffled plate, immersed on one si
de in a mean flow and coupled on the other side to a rectangular cavit
y with arbitrary wall impedances. The plate is excited by a plane wave
convected by the mean flow. The formulation is based on a finite elem
ent method for the calculation of the transverse vibrations of the pla
te and the acoustic field inside the cavity. The external fluid loadin
g is accounted for through the extended Kirchoff-Helmoltz integral equ
ation and the radiation impedance of the plate in the external fluid i
s computed with a boundary element method. The mean flow effects on th
e transmission loss of the plate are discussed.
