Abstract
Experiments have been carried out at various scales on rockets using s olid propellant. The results show that the granulometric characteristi cs of the jet have no influence on acoustic noise radiated. However, t he total radiated acoustic power seems to increase slightly faster tha n the mass flow. The sound level differences resulting from this pheno menon are small but can be taken into account using the experimental l aw from ref. [4], when it comes to transpose results obtained at reduc ed scale to the real scale.
