J. Poskrobko et al., ANALYSIS OF HIGH-BOILING ETHOXYLATES OF METHYL, ETHYL AND BUTYL ALCOHOLS, WITH THE USE OF GAS-CHROMATOGRAPHY, Chemia Analityczna, 39(2), 1994, pp. 153-159
A method has been developed for analyzing high-boiling ethoxylates of
methyl, ethyl and butyl alcohols, with the use of a heat resistant (up
to 325-degrees-C) capillary column with methylphenylsilicone phase (U
ltra 2.25 m x 0.32 mm x 0.52 mum from Hewlett Packard). The qualitativ
e interpretation was based on a system of arithmetic retention indices
which were found with the use of two capillary columns: Ultra 2 and D
B-17 (30 m x 0.32 mm x 0.5 mum). In the separation, a Perkin Elmer gas
chromatograph, model 8700, equipped with a flame ionization detector
was employed. Temperature was changed linearly from to 50-310-degrees-
C at the rate of 8-degrees-C min-1.
