The permeability of standard and modified polyethylene terephthalate t
rack membranes with respect to molecules of glucose and ascorbic acid
was investigated. It was shown that the permeability of the membranes
can be correlated with the pore surface charge. A method was found for
modifying track membranes with an initial pore diameter of approximat
ely 50 nm in which the membrane totally retains molecules of ascorbic
acid, and the effective diffusion coefficient of molecules of glucose
in the pores is close to the volumetric diffusion coefficient.
