The rheological behavior of aqueous solutions of sodium silicate was i
nvestigated. The dependence of the viscosity of sodium silicate soluti
ons on the silicate modulus M was determined, where M is the ratio of
the mass fraction of SiO2 to the mass fraction of Na2O; the change in
their rheological properties with time is described. The experimental
rheological data are used to characterize the structure and stability
of sodium silicate solutions.
