Vn. Pribylov et Av. Filippov, ELECTRIC CHARGING OF A SYMMETRICAL AIRFOIL BY AN AEROSOL FLOW CONTAINING CONDUCTING CHARGED SOLID PARTICLES, Colloid journal of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 55(6), 1993, pp. 875-880
A study is made of the electric charging of a symmetric charged thin a
irfoil having good conductivity. The source of the charge consists of
conducting solid particles. The airfoil is in a gas flow. If the inert
ia of the particles is low, the charging is expressed through a normal
elliptic second-order Legendre function. The problem is solved numeri
cally if the inertia of the particles is sufficiently great. However,
analytical results can be used within a fairly broad range of Stokes n
umbers. The introduction of a parameter which characterizes the partic
le recharging process makes it possible to more realistically describe
the charging of the airfoil or the characteristics of an electric pro
be.
