Abstract
1. Cumulative administrations of U46619, a thromboxane A(2) analogue, and prostaglandin (PG) F-2 alpha produced concentration-dependent cont ractions of isolated dog renal arterial preparations, which were signi ficantly and concentration-dependently inhibited by vapiprost. 2. A bo lus administration of U46619 or PGF(2 alpha) produced sustained contra cture of these preparations, which was concentration-dependently relax ed by cumulative vapiprost. 3. Results indicate that vapiprost inhibit s U46619- and PGF2 alpha-induced dog renal arterial contractions throu gh antagonism for so-called TP receptors.
