Abstract
The level spacing distributions of a confined 2DEG (2D electron gas) i n a strong magnetic field are studied. As long as the Landau bands do not overlap the distribution statistics exhibit a sharp transition in the vicinity of the edge states. The level spacing distribution betwee n the pair of edge stares follow the Poisson statistics while the leve l spacing in their vicinity is non-universal.
