Abstract
The No 2 continuous digester at NZFP Pulp & Paper Limited's Kinleith m ill is a Kamyr hydraulic digester. Problems with scale build-up and de creasing cooking circulations in this type of digester are well known, but the process problems experienced as a result of scale build-up in our digester were unusual in their severity. The solution found was a lso unusual, showing that 'necessity is the mother of invention'.
