A sinusoidal high-voltage, high-frequency power supply has been design
ed in our laboratory for the use in electrochemical etching (ECE) deve
lopment of charged and recoil particle tracks in polymeric detectors.
The system operates well over a wide range of frequencies, from 0.5 up
to 10 kHz with maximum peak-to-peak output voltage of about 8.0 kV. E
CE parameters have been studied for optimum etching conditions. The ci
rcuit is applicable to particle identification and detection providing
a low power consumption without any distortion in the wave-form of th
e output signals.
