Jm. Reau et al., CLUSTERING PROCESS INSIDE THE SR1-XMX''F2-SOLUTIONS(2X (M''=TH, U) SOLID), Physica status solidi. a, Applied research, 143(1), 1994, pp. 51-58
The Sr1-xMx''F2+2x (M'' = Th. U) solid solutions appear as characteriz
ed by the same clustering process as the Ca1-xMx''F2+2x ones: progress
ive transformation with increasing x of 4:0:3:3 clusters into 1:0:3: 0
clusters. Comparison of the short-range structure and electrical prop
erties of the M1-xMxF2+2x (M = Ca, Sr; M'' = Th, U) solid solutions sh
ows that the fluoride ion conductivity in these materials is essential
ly bound to the mobility of charge carriers, whereas their number depe
nds on structural constraints.
