Abstract
The conductance of solutions of lithium abietate, oleate and myristate has been measured in water and methanol at 35 and 45-degrees-C in ord er to determine the critical micelle concentration, dissociation const ant, molecular conductance at infinite dilution and thermodynamic para meters, i.e. enthalpy, free energy and entropy change for the dissocia tion process. The results show that these soaps behave as weak electro lytes in both solvents and that the Debye-Huckel-Onsager equation fail s for solutions of these soaps.
