Abstract
Palladium(0)-catalyzed reaction of 2-cyclopenten-1-yl methyl carbonate derivatives with nucleoside bases gave carbocyclic nucleosides chemo- and regioselectively under the neutral reaction conditions. The react ion was effectively used for the synthesis of (-)- and (+)-carbovir an d its analogues.
