Solubilities are reported for aluminum, gallium, and indium tris-ligan
d complexes of the pyrones maltol and ethylmaltol and of a number of 4
-pyridinones in water-methanol and water-tert-butyl alcohol solvent mi
xtures, at 298.2 K. Trends and patterns in transfer chemical potential
s derived from these solubilities are discussed in terms of the depend
ence of solvation on the nature of the ligand, the metal, and the coso
lvent.
