Abstract
High performance one-sun silicon solar cells have been studied by two- dimensional device simulations. Special care has been taken to reliabl y assess material properties relevant to device operation. The solutio n of the drift-diffusion equations yields an excellent account of meas ured cell performance. In order to help further cell improvements we h ave itemized the recombination losses at the maximum power operating p oint.
