FUZZY CONTROL IN THE RECOVERY BOILER

Valmet Automation has developed a fuzzy logics controller and applied it to recovery boiler bed control at Oy Metsa-Botnia Ab's Kemi Mills i n Finland. The following article gives a general description of the au tomation concept of the recovery boiler, some features of the automati on system, especially the fuzzy logics control for the bed, and experi ences from the use of the total supervisory control of the boiler, whi ch has been in use since 1992.
