F. Sersen et F. Devinsky, STIMULATING EFFECT OF QUATERNARY AMMONIUM-SALTS UPON THE PHOTOSYNTHETIC ELECTRON-TRANSPORT, Photosynthetica, 30(1), 1994, pp. 151-154
Quaternary ammonium salts, besides having an inhibitory effect which w
as studied by Kralova et al. (1992), exhibited at low concentrations a
stimulating effect upon the oxygen evolution rate in spinach chloropl
asts. The stimulation is caused by changes in arrangement of thylakoid
membranes due to a detergent-like effect of the compounds.
