Abstract
There is a popular public misconception in the UK that HIV is not pred ominantly readily transmitted heterosexually. Because of reports in th e so-called quality press, teachers could well find themselves confron ting such misconceptions in the classroom. However, the historic and c urrent statistics of HIV infection reveal a different story.
