Abstract
Explicit results are presented for transient, mixed-mode, plane elasto dynamic crack tip fields around a rapidly propagating crack in a homog eneous, isotropic and linearly elastic solid. Expressions for stresses and displacements are composed of steady-state terms and correspondin g transient corrections and are put in the form of asymptotic series e xpansions (up to six terms) in terms of crack tip polar coordinates.
