Abstract
Molar excess volumes, V(E), and molar excess enthalpies, H(E), for met hylene bromide(i) + nitrobenzene(j) mixture have been measured as a fu nction of composition at 308.15 K. Graph-theoretical analysis of V(E) data suggests that while nitrobenzene exists as equilibrium mixture of monomer and dimer in this mixture, the mixture as such contains a 1:1 molecular complex. IR and NMR studies lend further credance to this v iewpoint.
