Abstract
Thirteen new 3-aryloxy-3-phenylpropanamines (11-23) have been prepared and their structures elucidated by mass, IR and H-1-NMR spectra and b y elemental analysis. Being structurally similar to fluoxetine these c ompounds have been tested for their effect on gross behaviour and anti depressant activities at 75 mumolar dose level. Four compounds (15,16, 21 and 23) show varying degree of fluoxetine like antidepressant activ ity in mice.
