Ae. Flores et al., TOLERANCE TO DICOFOL IN A FIELD POPULATION OF EUTETRANYCHUS-BANSKI (MCGREGOR), The Southwestern entomologist, 19(2), 1994, pp. 161-165
Dicofol tolerance of a field population of Texas Citrus Mite, Eutetran
ychus banksi (McGregor) (TCM) of unknown exposure time and a laborator
y population of the same species which was collected routinely from an
unsprayed orange orchard and reared for thirty-four generations (nine
teen months) free from any acaricide application were compared. Experi
ments were conducted from August 1990 through April 1992 to determine
the base line susceptibility for TCM populations. No conventional resi
stance to dicofol was detected in the field population. Results are us
eful in providing a permanent monitoring program for identifying the d
evelopment of resistance.
