Abstract
Miconia santanana, which occurs in broad-leaved forests along streams of pineland habitats in the Cordillera Central of the Dominican Republ ic, is described and illustrated. It is compared with M. ferruginea an d M. adenocalyx, two presumed close relatives within Miconia sect. Cha enopleura. Eco-geographic characterizations and a key are presented fo r these three species.
