Abstract
Unidirectional sharing of spectrochemical data and programs is propose d with the use of Gopher client/server software from the University of Minnesota. This software tool allows the establishment of a repositor y for data and programs that can be accessed by anyone connected to th e Internet. Since the transfer of information is only in one direction , an administrator can maintain a current and virus-free data base for the spectrochemical community.
