G. Kochan et al., DIFFERENTIATION OF AUJESZKYS-DISEASE VIRUS-STRAINS ISOLATED IN POLANDUSING DNA BIOTINYLATED PROBES, Acta veterinaria Hungarica, 42(2-3), 1994, pp. 369-376
The aim of this study was to compare 17 different Aujeszky's disease v
irus (ADV) isolates from clinical outbreaks of AD by using DNA biotiny
lated probes. All isolates were collected in Poland between 1984 and 1
991. The restriction fragment pattern (RFP) analysis done by hybridiza
tion to NIA-3 DNA biotinylated probe indicated that all Polish ADV fie
ld strains can be classified as type I of Suid herpesvoirus 1. Hybridi
zation with BamHI fragment 7 and gI gene biotinylated probes revealed
an unusual heterogeneity of BamHI fragment 7 in almost 50% of strains
isolated in Poland. The nature of the molecular changes in this fragme
nt will be discussed.
