Abstract
A formulation for analyzing surface acoustic waves in piezoelectric se miconductors is given based on Maxwell's equations; drift current is t aken into account, diffusion current being neglected. Dispersion curve s are obtained for the surface acoustic waves in GaAs, ZnO, and CdS. I t is seen that simple relaxation-type dispersions occur around dielect ric relaxation frequencies in the same way as for plane waves.
