Abstract
The evaluation principles of neural networks are presented and compare d with common known techniques. The concepts in data processing, intro duced by neural nets are explained and processing types implemented by neural networks are presented. The evaluation of gas sensitive sensor s will be an example for the special features of neural nets, with a f ocus to the self-organizing map.
