In. Ganiev et al., POTENTIODYNAMIC STUDY OF ALLOYS IN THE SYSTEMS AL-GA, AL-IN AND AL-CD, Russian journal of applied chemistry, 66(7), 1993, pp. 1291-1292
Anodic behavior of aluminum alloys with gallium, indium, and cadmium w
as investigated potentiodynamically with a rate of potential sweep of
10 mV . sec-1. Additions of gallium and indium have been shown to shif
t the stationary potential to the negative region, and those of cadmiu
m to the positive one. Alloying of aluminum by additions of gallium, i
ndium, and cadmium increases the current density of the onset of passi
vation and shortens the width of the passive region on the potentiodyn
amic curves, which is indicative of deterioration of the resistance to
corrosion.
