Ed. Bagandova et al., ELECTRODE PROPERTIES AND ELECTRICAL CONDUCTANCE OF LITHIUM ALUMINOBOROSILICATE GLASSES, Russian journal of applied chemistry, 66(7), 1993, pp. 1188-1195
We studied the electrical conductance and the thermal and electrode pr
operties of lithium aluminoborosilicate glasses in which the Al2O3 and
Li2O concentrations are 20, 16, 12, and 10 mole % and the [SiO2]:[Al]
ratio is varied from 1.4 to 3.9. As this takes place the selectivity
of glass electrodes toward Na+ ions increases as compared with Li+ and
H+ ions in solution. For a glass containing 10% Al2O3 the selectivity
coefficient K(LiNa)sel is as high as 10(3), and K(HNa)sel > 1.
