Abstract
Adaptive process control contributes considerably to an increase of ef ficiency in internal grinding. To be mentioned are the reduction of pr oduction time, the improved quality of the workpiece and the increased process reliability. Up to now, the necessary controlling was done wi th conventional digital closed-loop controllers. In recent investigati ons a fuzzy-controller has been employed. An essential problem of fuzz y-controllers is the time consuming and subjective adjustment of a lar ge number of design parameters. Here an objective method which uses ne ural and other intelligent technologies is presented. It also minimize s the manual time effort for the controller design. Thus particularly parametrization of the membership functions and the generation of the production rules could be automated.
