Mw. Arbouine et Sp. Day, THE USE OF DRUM DEFECTS TO LINK LASER-PRINTED DOCUMENTS TO INDIVIDUALLASER PRINTERS, Journal - Forensic Science Society, 34(2), 1994, pp. 99-104
The wide read use of laser printers has made it necessary for document
examiners to find a method of linking a questioned document to an ind
ividual printer. The identification of marks on laser-printed document
s that derive from a fault on the print drum provide a means of achiev
ing this. These drum faults may also be used to determine the sequence
of printing different pages of laser-printed materials.
