For the recovery of photodegraded low density polyethylene from greenh
ouses and solars it was blended with ethylene-propylene-diene monomer
rubber, bitumen and atactic polypropylene. Thermodynamically compatibl
e blends, selected by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and diel
ectric spectroscopy studies, were moulded into hydroinsulating sheets
which had good utilization properties. These DSC compatibility studies
are described.
