Investigation of the dryout in upward water flow within the ranges of
mass velocities 10-150 kg/m(2).s, pressures 0.1-1.6 MPa, and heat flux
50-420 kW/m(2) is reported. The distributions of wall temperature and
wall temperature fluctuations on the length of the tube, the time var
iations of flow temperature are obtained. The dependences of the bound
ary vapor quality and the critical heat flux from mass velocity are di
scovered. The mechanism of the heat transfer crisis at low mass veloci
ties is also analyzed.
