Abstract
Isochromosomes related to chromosomes 1, 5, 6, 8, and 9 were frequentl y observed in 23 cases of lung cancer. Their existence in tumor cells might be nonrandom. Premature centromere separation (PCS) was found in the PGT-131 cell line of a lung cancer. It is suggested that PCS may play a role in the formation of isochromosomes in lung cancer.
