Abstract
Angular misalignment at longitudinal weld joints has been discussed in the literature. For the local type of peaking, various formulae for t he additional bending stresses have been proposed, especially with reg ard to second-order theory effects. In this technical note a (power se ries) approximation for the local type of peaking is presented and com pared with numerical results obtained via a finite element analysis.
