Abstract
2',3'-Dideoxy-3'-hydroxymethylcytidine (1) has been synthesized via st ereoselective Rh-catalyzed hydroformylation of 2',3'-didehydro-2',3'-d ideoxycytidine 3b. This synthesis incorporates the first successful hy droformylation of a nucleoside olefin. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
