A. Jekunen et al., RENAL-CELL CARCINOMA IN A NATURAL REMAINING KIDNEY AFTER 2 KIDNEY TRANSPLANTATIONS - CASE-REPORT, Scandinavian journal of urology and nephrology, 28(2), 1994, pp. 187-189
A 57-year-old woman with nephropathy following a streptococcal infecti
on had received a kidney transplant in 1980 and 1986 and immunosuppres
sive treatment since 1980. Renal cell carcinoma was found in the right
native kidney in 1991, with skeletal metastases. Nephrectomy was perf
ormed and radiotherapy given. Removal of nonfunctioning kidneys would
prevent development of such cancer.
