The electronic structure, UV-visible spectrum, excited states molecula
r dynamics and micro-mechanism of reverse saturable absorption copper
phthalocyanine molecule have been studied by using ROHF-INDO / SDCI me
thod associated with experiment. The conclusion is that the necessary
condition of reverse saturable absorption of copper phthalocyanine is
the lowest quadruple state absorption cross section must be larger tha
n the ground state absorption cross section for Laser. This condition
is satisfied when the wave length of incident Laser is equal 532nm for
CuPc, so the character of reverse saturable absorption appears. The t
heoretical analyses are consistent with experimental results.
