The solubilities of cholesterol have been determined experimentally in
six solvents - benzene, toluene, cyclohexane, 1,2-dichloroethane, tri
chloromethane and tetrachloromethane - by a dynamic method in the temp
erature range 290-350 K. The large influence of the solute-solvent int
eraction on the temperature of the cholesterol solid-solid phase trans
ition has been observed. The results have been correlated by the Wilso
n equation, UNIQUAC theory and the UNIQUAC association solution model.
